Where Diagnostic Clarity Leads to Appropiate Treatment for Every Patient

The C.L.I.N.I.C. has gained a reputation for specializing in the evaluation and diagnosis of complex psychological, learning, and language-related disorders and their treatment. Our approach is predicated on the belief that diagnostics must inform treatment. This allows for targeted interventions and yields highly impactful results. By utilizing an integrated and collaborative approach, The C.L.I.N.I.C. ensures that patients and their families are getting the highest level of care.

  • COMPLEX DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS

Many mental health and educational conditions share symptoms and often present similarly. Differential diagnosis involves considering the constellation of symptoms, their manifestation as well as their developmental context. The process includes a comprehensive clinical interview, a review of any prior records and the completion of various measures. Once a diagnosis has been made, a treatment plan is crafted to match the diagnosis.

  • NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS

A neuropsychological assessment is a survey of brain function. This assessment begins with a clinical interview. Standardized tests are then administered, which cover general cognitive ability, academic achievement, attention and concentration, executive functions, memory and learning, language, visuo-spatial functions, sensory and motor ability, and behavioral/psychological problems. The collected data is analyzed and synthesized and a comprehensive report is prepared. The results of the evaluation, as well as recommendations, are then reviewed with the relevant parties.

  • PSYCHIATRIC CARE & PHARMACOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT

Psychiatric care and pharmacological management requires a high level of competency and compassion. Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations are conducted to arrive at an appropriate diagnosis. When a condition requires pharmacological intervention, it is critical that the support being offered directly targets the condition and its symptoms. This is only possible through accurate diagnostics and a high level of expertise in the use of pharmacological agents. It is critical for the patient to gain a level of comfort and confidence in their treating clinician, who understands them and their condition, and can offer appropriate education and care.

  • PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy is the facilitation of a process that allows one to gain insight into themselves and develop an understanding of the nature of the challenges that they face. These challenges can be related to one’s feelings, thoughts and behavior. The therapeutic process is built on a relationship of trust and understanding that is established with the treating clinician. Through the use of a variety of models and techniques, the client develops skills to better manage their feelings, thoughts and behaviors.

  • SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

Our practice’s focus is on literacy and learning supporting language interventions. Language underlies our ability to read, understand and learn. Using empirically supported methodology, matched with an understanding of the developmental process, we are able to support children's acquisition of these critical skills.

  • ACADEMIC COACHING - SOCIAL SKILLS

It takes more than cognitive ability for a child to succeed in school and life. It requires specific academic, social and emotional skills. When it comes to academic skills, our objective is to move children from having learning potential to having the skills they need to have ownership over their learning related processes. Social emotional skills deficits can hamper the success of even the most cognitively capable students. We work to empower students by helping them gain an understanding of themselves and their proclivities and help them develop the skills that they need to navigate the world around them successfully.

"We see a wide spectrum of presentations across the lifespan of each patient. Our clinical efficacy is in understanding and appreciating the complexities of every person who comes to The C.L.I.N.I.C., and providing the appropriate tools for treatment."
